Josh’s MBA Qualifications

Josh has helped clients get into these schools:

MBA programs strive to build diverse cohorts. Top programs can ensure that divesity while maintaining quality, because they get to pick from the top candidate in every segment. Because certain segments are more crowded (e.g. Asian American male in Tech), how you position yourself as a candidate is critical to standing out and securing that admission. I can help you based on my experience getting into 5 of the top 7 programs (and getting waitlisted at the 6th, Stanford) and all that I learned from my $10K admissions consultant at the time (ex-admissions officer, journalist at a top newspaper). Frankly, even more important than getting in are (i) choosing to do an MBA, (ii) which program to choose since you WILL get multiple offers working with me, and (iii) making the most of the MBA experience personally and professionally -- otherwise, it's a waste of time and money. How you show up day 1 on campus, or even pre-start social events where your "vibe" will dictate the value you get out of MBA. I'll help you with these as well.

About Josh

- COACHING EXPERIENCE: I've been coaching for a long-time in my 15-year career and more recently as a dad :) Coaching is >30% of my day job as the Head of Product, Design, and Product Marketing at a scaleup. - PRODUCT & CONSULTING: Functionally, I went from PM -> consulting -> PM. I helped many colleagues & mentees break into Product & Consulting (there's a playbook to it). I would love to help you break into product & consulting, make the most of your time in those fieds, get promoted (especially into management roles), and transition out of those fields profitably as well. - GOING ABROAD: Geographically, I've taken my career abroad twice (US -> LatAm, US -> Europe) and helped many transition into the US as well (from Europe & India). I want to help others embark on international adventures, too. - MBA: Academically, I can also coach you on whether to do an MBA, how to get in, and how to make the most of it (the last part is crucial). I got into 5 of the top 7 programs (no HBS, waitlist at Stanford) and learned a lot from my admissions consultant back then. - NETWORKING: I'd be happy to coach you and also connect you with my network where relevant (Note: You should first work with me as a coach... I don't want to monetize my network). But more importantly, I'll teach you how to network for long-term career and personal connections. - AMSTERDAM: I can do in-person sessions in Amsterdam (not many people offer it).

Why do I coach?

Life is short. Hence, I like to maximize "impact per hour" of my time, where the impact can be in terms of business, customer, and people (i.e. improving career trajectories and achieving personal dreams). In the past decade, I've been recognized as a great coach & mentor at work across 3-4 very different companies, functions, and geographies. I've successfully hired and developed experienced managers and college grads alike, and helped people make key transitions (e.g. changing functions, getting a manager role, or going abroad). So, I want to apply my coaching skill to broaden my people impact.
