About Roberto

My background: 🎓 MBA at Stanford; BSc and MSc Electrical Engineering from PUC-Rio (Brazil) 💡 Ops/Product experience across three different startups: 🚗 Operations Manager, Passengers @ DiDi 👷‍♀️ Senior Manager (Ops) and Product Manager @ Instawork 🍴 Senior Manager, New Ventures and Growth @ Shef 📈 Current role: Data Analytics Lead @ Better Health 💚 Mentor/coach across multiple platforms: Leland, The Commons, Twenty Fun facts/hobbies: 🏖️ I’m from the best city in the world, Rio de Janeiro 🏃 I’m training to run my 1st marathon (for fun) and l used to be a professional swimmer ⚽ As a stereotypical Brazilian, I love soccer and cheer for Fluminense (Libertadores champions 2023)

Why do I coach?

I could create a beautiful story behind why I just want to help others, but the truth is much more selfish than that: I LOVE COACHING! I have actual pleasure in helping others think their issues through with them, creating frameworks that are useful to my coachees, and seeing them succeed. Since my early days of undergrad I've been involved with mentoring/coaching other students: in college, I was a teaching assistant for 6 different classes across 6 different semesters. During that time I also had the TEPP scholarship (translates to Tutoring, Teaching and Research at PUC) where I mentored dozens of students through their undergrad studies and early career decisions. During my MBA at Stanford, I was an Arbuckle Leadership Fellow, a Stanford GSB program in which we take coaching classes and coach first-year students on life or career. I'm now also a mentor for Strategy and Operations at The Commons (more career-focused), and at Twenty (personal and professional mentoring). On another selfish note, mentoring/coaching is also the most effective way I've found to create a strong network. By helping others succeed in their MBA applications, getting that job, or passing an exam, I'm automatically increasing the quality of my network.
